After nearly an hour on the phone this morning the first step has been taken to cancelling the Telefónica internet connection. Of course we’ll have to call them again to confirm and and of course we will have to bring them back their modem but at least a start has been made. God rot and damn every one of the board of Telefónica Argentina.
We also called Telecentro and they said they would have their connection installed by Thursday. Fingers crossed.
Day 4 with no landline or internet at home and the current position of Telefónica is that they have checked our line, that it is fine and that any difficulty we may be experiencing must be due to both of our telephones and the modem for the computer not working properly. Matters are now in the hands of their Department of I can’t remember what and we have been told that 10 to 15 days is the likely timeframe for a response from them.
It’s this kind of experience that makes expropriation and nationalisation without compensation seem like a great idea if only for a couple of seconds before you remember it wouldn’t do any good because the the same bunch of cunts would end up being in charge.
