A certain sector of “progressive” porteño opinion has spent the last three months caterwauling about Macri’s administration as if it represented a cross between the return of the military and the arrival of a group of extraterrestrials. I have already written about an aspect of this disagreeable noise here.
Now any doubts about whether the new city government represents continuity or change can be laid to rest with a glance at the front page of today’s Crítica. The centripetal force pushing people towards public employment in Argentina is far stronger than any ideological considerations about its supposedly unproductive and inefficient nature.
