Buena Prensa has an excellent post here. It ranks conflicts since 1950 on the basis of the number of fatal casualties they caused. Guess where the Arab-Israeli conflict comes on the list? 49th. You wouldn’t get that impression from the hectares of media coverage it gets, some of which might better be dedicated to other struggles which don’t get the coverage they need. The Moroccan occupation of Western Sahara springs to mind in this regard.
A small quibble; the list doesn’t include the civil war in Peru in the 1980s and 90s which according to the Peruvian governments Truth and Reconciliation Commission cost about 70,000 lives.
